Ambient weather conditions affect the conductor temperature as much as the current in the line. ThermCap's weather tab let's you enter the ambient conditions that will have an effect on the conductor temperature. Most parameters on this tab should be measured at the time you measured the height of the conductor. The only parameter that can offer some challenge is the latitude of the line. If you do not know the latitude of your city, you can use ThermCap's a major city lookup list that allows you to pick the closest major city to your location. With the help of the instructions in ThermCap's help file, you can determine the latitude for your location.
